Want to give your home decor a boost of all things spring with a fun and easy do-it-yourself floral arrangement?

With Easter, Mother's Day, bridal showers and graduations approaching, this cheerful spring floral arrangement is perfect for a centerpiece, or even a gift!

1. First, pick up a package of drinking straws. You know, the kind you had when you were a kid. White with pale green, yellow and red stripes.

2. Find a clear glass container approximately 4' in diameter and 6' tall. Available at craft or floral supply store. Must be clear! (Hint: a mason jar could be used for a smaller arrangement)

3. Stuff as many drinking straws as possible into the clear container.

4. Next, pick out an arrangement of your favorite fresh cut spring flowers. Tulips, daffodils, lilies or irises would be perfect for this particular flower arrangement. Remember to cut the stems at a 45 degree angle.

5. Hollow out a hole in the center of the drinking staws wide enough to hold your flower arrangement in place.

6. Place your spring flowers into the hole. Fill in any loose spots with extra drinking straws.

7. Fill the vase with lukewarm water.

8. And voilà! A playful design for any table. The drinking straws not only are whimsical aesthetically, they also lend strength to the stems of the spring floral arrangement. Recut ends and replace water after a few days to increase longetivity. Keep floral arrangement in a cool spot, away from direct sunlight, heating or cooling vents.

Enjoy!
